india is shining

this came to my box as a forward with sub line: "india is shining", so thought i won't get a better post than this.so is this showing india is highly competitive and can enter into a global space ??

Adding up one more tag of what someone smarter than me said ...
"the true measure of a society is how it takes care of those who cannot care for themselves." (thanks to Elaine for this desc...)

Well, well, what can I say?? Nice blog!!! Though "India is shining", I think at the same time money is loosing its value too!!!!!!! and now people just know huge numbers means economic growth...so they do anything and everything to earn that money...

I think that India is not shining yet, but is on the right course. Every time I want to think that India is shining, some or the other incident on the road or on the street make me re-think about that. Arun, I'm curious to know where you got this photograph from, and whether it's real or fabricated :) Sorry, but I couldn't help stealing this photograph - I posted it on my own blog, and I hope you don't mind! By the way, I liked you posts, and wish you good luck!

This looks like a guy made ragpicker stand there and took the photo. The ragpicker looks dazed and if i am not wrong the monitor is just showing the welcome screen.
The ragpicker doesnt seem to be holding a card in his hand.
I could have believed this photo by jumping to the conculsion that the photographer is an ameatuer. Maybe he got excited and just jumped into the atm counter and clicked the snap, rather than wait for the action i.e. while withdrawing money.
But the quality of the photo is pretty good and maybe the ragpicker actually did not know how to operate an atm so there was no action.
I am sure in india if a ragpicker tried to get into an atm the security guard would stop him. He would have to show his atm card(nowadays all atms cards have removed the door locks) and the card should be in his hand in the picture.
So i would like to think it is orchestrated.
Hey btw good stuff on your blog
